At the beginning

The process starts with us visiting your home to evaluate your needs, then providing you with a no-obligation proposal.

After receiving the signed and accepted proposal, we schedule our Colorado Licensed Professional Engineer for a site visit to draw up plans that can be taken to the city to obtain a building permit. Our engineers typically finish the drawings in about a week, and obtaining a permit typically takes 2-3 weeks once the drawings are submitted.

When the work starts

We typically arrive at 8:30 am on the day of your basement egress window or window well installation.

Our first priority is keeping your home beautiful, so we'll start by masking off the inside work area with plastic and moving blankets to contain dust and debris.

Next, we lay down plywood to protect your grass and landscaping. Only once we've made sure that your home will be protected do we begin the excavation and soil haul-off process.

After the excavation is complete, we fire up the saw and cut the openings in your basement walls. Our state-of-the-art saw allows us to do all of the cutting from the outside, which keeps water and dust out of your home.

We then install our specially engineered maintenance-free aluminum structural frame with integrated window well. Basement Escape has developed this unique process over our 25 years of successful installations, and we are the only company in the industry using this efficient, maintenance-free system.

Once your new egress windows and/or window wells are installed, we backfill and grade around the new well, making sure there is plenty of drainage away from your new window.

At the end of the installation process, we rigorously double-check all of our work before signing off on the project as complete. We then remove the masking and protection from the inside of your basement and vacuum the work area - we never leave a mess behind for you to clean up. Once that's finished, we'll remove the grass protection and rake the outside work area to return your lawn to its pristine condition.

And that's it!

By the time we leave, your window is installed, looking great, and ready to use.
